  • Gilberto Rios

    Gilberto Rios, CPFC

    Gilbert Rios is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in higher education, who has worked in various roles, including outreach specialist, financial aid advisor and financial wellness counselor. Throughout his career, he has been committed to helping students achieve their academic goals and has been instrumental in expanding outreach programs and services to underserved communities. Gilbert’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in finance from The University of Texas-Pan American and a master’s in business administration from St. Edward’s University. He has applied his business acumen and analytical skills to higher education, creating innovative strategies to improve student success and increase access to higher education.

    Nilda Mason, CPFC

    Nilda Mason is a first-generation college graduate who is passionate about helping students develop a healthy relationship with their finances. As a noted financial expert with over 10 years of experience in higher education, she is a valuable resource for Texas Financial Wellness.

  • Eric Flynn

    Eric Flynn, CPFC

    Eric Flynn is a Certified Financial Counselor who received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. He has more than 25 years of experience with money management and is passionate about spreading financial education and empowering individuals to pursue better financial health. Eric has worked within a variety of industries, which affords him a keen understanding of the nuances associated with many different professions, has lived in three different countries, and has travelled to five out of the seven continents. He is focused on bettering his life as well as the lives of everyone that he professionally encounters.

    Nayla Borrell, CPFC

    Nayla Borrell is a recent graduate from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in international relations and global studies. During her time at UT-Austin she served as a Certified Financial Peer Mentor, where she solidified her passion for helping students develop sound financial habits while focusing on their education. As a first-generation immigrant she works diligently to break the financial barriers keeping unrepresented communities from accessing higher education and believes in the power of financial literacy to uplift the new generations of UT Longhorns.
